Deacon Check-In

“Iron sharpens iron, and
one man sharpens another.”

You are a part of a nearly 1000-man diaconate! But rarely, if ever, it feels like that.

Whether it’s dealing with normal diaconal stuff or the added difficulties of a covid or post-covid normal, it’s easy to feel like you are on your own or just a couple of you trying to make things work. Who takes care of the local deacon? Who comes alongside those who serve?

To that end, the CDM is working to create new opportunities for training and encouragement. We are now on our second round of what we call, “Deacon Check-In”.  The goal is to have two deacons check in with each other for an occasional short time of conversation and prayer.
Currently, we are on a twice a year schedule (August and February) for the “Deacon Check-In”. We are hopeful that this helps to initiate a 20-30 minute call between men—or perhaps an even longer-term friendship.

For now, all you need to do is sign up below. We’ll pair everyone up and let you know. No long term commitments are necessary.

If you’ve signed up previously, no need to sign up again. You are already on our list! If you don’t recall signing up, go ahead and sign up again!.

You may be blessed. You may really bless one of your brothers.

Your sign up will register you for the August, 2023 iteration of the Deacon Check-In. Sign ups close August 4, 2023.
